Extension Activities of Faculty of Veterinary Science & A.H.

1. Advisory Services

     Under the Advisory Services, the scientists of veterinary faculty provided technical guidance to the farmers through farm and home visits, office calls and correspondence. During the year under report, advisory services were extended to more than 1500 farmers on improved practices on Goat, Pig, Dairy, Poultry, Fisheries, Duck, Quail, Rabbit and Bee keeping.

2. Farmers Exposure visits to different livestock farms

     Farmers by their own or by different NGOs were brought for exposure visits to different livestock farms of the faculty. During the year under report 5454 (five thousand four hundred fifty four) farmers visited various farms as per the following details

3. Training

     (a) Training programmes on various aspects of livestock farming viz - Pig, Goat, Dairy, Poultry, Fishery & others (Bee keeping, Duck, Quail, Rabbit etc.) are imparted round the year. This is a 10-day training programme for providing hand on experience to farmers through practices. For this a token of Rs. 200/- (two hundred) is charged from each farmer as Registration Fee. During the year under report 247 (two hundred forty seven) farmers were given training as per the given detail:

7. Satellite Veterinary Dispensaries : During the year under report, two satellite veterinary dispensaries were started at Hochar and Dubalia with a view to impart practical orientation to the under graduate students to hardbe the animal health discover by their own and to benefit the farmers/livestock owner by providing the veterinary services free of cost at their door.

8. Health/Infertility/Vaccination camps in villages : During the year under report 2 camps were organised in the village as per the following details
